Active Speaking

The Lincolnshire Autism Awareness Project spends much of its time actively promoting awareness in local Illinois communities. This process includes speaking at schools about various topics related to neurodivergence. This could include what it means to be neurodivergent, the experiences an individual who is neurodivergent may face, the idea of a "spectrum," and the best course of action when interacting with an individual who may be neurodivergent. The speaking events can occur at all schooling locations at all levels. The "easy" presentation is geared towards K-2nd grade, the "intermediate" level covers topics taught to 3-4th grades, and "hard" covers topics for 6th+ grades. LAAP has received numerous credible testimonials for their hard work at such institutions, even appearing on the Daily Herald news platform for their work. These can be found below!

"I had the pleasure of having the Lincolnshire Autism Awareness Project group come speak at my school on December 18, 2023. The presentation was fantastic! The presentation was put together in a way that was easy for students to understand, which helped with student engagement. Student body language and the amount of students who volunteered to answer questions made it clear that they were fully engaged. It was a great experience!"
